Work on the Corporation's integrated solid waste management project at the Perungudi dump yard will be inaugurated on Monday, Mayor M.Subramanian said on Saturday. Distributing free colour television sets in K.K.Nagar, he said the civic body aimed at creating zero garbage levels at the yard, where 1,400 tonnes of garbage are dumped every day. Labour Minister T.M. Anbarasan said that of the total 1.52 crore TV sets to be distributed in the State, 1.34 crore sets have been given to the beneficiaries.
