Prince of Arcot to continue on Ajmer Dargah panel

April 29, 2010 01:27 am | Updated 01:27 am IST - CHENNAI:

In deference to the wishes of Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Salman Khursheed that the Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali continue with the Ajmer Dargah Committee, the Nawab has withdrawn his resignation.

In November 2008, Nawab Mohammed Ali submitted his resignation from the post of member, Dargah Committee, Dargah Kwaja Saheb, Ajmer due to internal politics and groupism in the panel. With Mr. Khursheed insisting that “the Prince's continued presence in the Dargah Committee is required as this will inspire confidence and immensely benefit the Dargah Committee,” thereby rejecting his resignation, the Nawab has agreed to continue in the position.
