Man murdered

A man was allegedly murdered and his body dumped in a roadside garbage bin in Nungambakkam on Wednesday night.

According to police sources, Thangiah (47) of Tirunelveli district entered into an argument with his friend Sivabalan (28) of Kumaran Nagar over a petty issue. In the scuffle that followed, Sivabalan, who was under the influence of liquor, stabbed Thangiah with a knife. The victim suffered a deep injury on his neck and died on the spot. The accused dumped the body in a garbage collection box and fled the scene. Sivabalan was arrested by the police, the sources added.
