At least four persons from Andhra Pradesh, all aged above 50, have lost their vision after complications following cataract surgeries, during an eye camp by a private hospital in Nellore district last week.
Sources at Sankara Nethralaya hospital, where 11 persons from that state were admitted on Saturday after developing complications, said four of them have lost their vision after the surgery.
“The rest are undergoing treatment and our doctors are trying to improve their vision,” the sources told PTI. However, officials have not disclosed the names of the patients who lost their vision.
