MDMK leader Vaiko has appealed to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa not to allow the India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO), which was to come up in Theni district and not grant Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board clearance to the project.

‘Crores spent on advertisements’

“Determined to implement the neutrino project, Central government officials have spent several crores of rupees towards advertisements and campaign about it. I would like to bring it to the notice of the Chief Minister that the officials have suppressed the fact that the project is dangerous to the State and have given their clearance to it,” Mr. Vaiko said in a statement.
