Schools and colleges in Chennai, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur districts will remain closed on Wednesday. Many educational institutions in Chennai have remained closed for over ten days after heavy rains and floods.
Heavy overnight rains in the city have once again resulted in inundation of low-lying areas and subways, even as the weather office forecast more rain in the State.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has announced that Chennai residents would get uninterrupted daily supply of water as the recent rains have filled the city reservoirs.
