A new mobile app for tourists

January 14, 2017 01:22 am | Updated 01:22 am IST - CHENNAI:

For the benefit of both domestic and international tourists, Tamil Nadu Tourism Department has launched a mobile app ‘pinakin’ with information on tourism in Tamil Nadu with audio facilities.

The app, in two languages — Tamil and English — covers world heritage tourist sites like Mamallapuram, Thanjavur Big Temple, Gangaikonda Cholapuram and Darasuram, an official release said. The app can be downloaded free of cost from iStore or Playstore.

The app would provide information on other major tourist destinations in Tamil Nadu in a phased manner. The Tourism Mart of Tamil Nadu would be held on May 20, 21 and 22 in Chennai to bring together all stakeholders and government departments with travel agents and other tourism agencies.
