84% prisoners pass exam

Prisoners from various jails in the State who wrote the Plus Two examinations have recorded 84% pass this year.

Prison officials said 73 prisoners wrote exams this year. Of them, 62 prisoners passed.

S. Tamilazhagan, who is lodged in the Coimbatore prison, has topped by securing 1,050 marks followed by Paulraj (Vellore Prison) with 1,022 marks and ‘Koolai’ Ibrahim (Puzhal Prison) with 1,005 marks.

While no prisoners secured centum, Tamilazhagan has scored the highest mark in a subject by scoring 199 out of 200 in Commerce, an official said.
