Youth breaks spine after stunt goes wrong

A 22-year-old singer and dancer of an orchestra broke his spinal cord and sustained serious injuries on his neck while performing a stunt for a video that was be uploaded on a mobile app.

The youth, Kumar, works with the Ramu Melodies. He usually performs such stunts and uploads the videos on the Tik Tok app. He gets a lot of appreciation for his stunts. On Saturday evening, he tried a back flip but lost his balance and fell, sustaining injuries.

His friend, who was with him, took him to Chikkanayakanahalli taluk government hospital where he was referred to Victoria hospital in Bengaluru.

Kumar is the son of Narasimhamurthy and Ramakka of Godekere in Chikkanyakanahalli taluk of Tumakuru district. He is the sole breadwinner of the family.

He said doctors have told him that they would carry out a surgery to fix the problem in his spinal cord.

He said it was a mistake to attempt such stunts just to upload the videos on an app. He called on youths to refrain from doing such stunts.
