November 22, 2013 02:11 pm | Updated 02:11 pm IST - Bangalore:

Officials of the military intelligence trapped a woman who, posing as an army officer, was cheating unemployed youths by luring them with jobs in the army.

The incident came to light when one of the victims, who had paid a hefty amount to the woman, approached the army office in Bangalore to cross-check the claims and offers made by her.

Based on his complaint, a team of officials laid a trap and caught her.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the woman was in touch with a few army officials and further probe is on to establish their involvement, sources said.

She was active for over the last one year and had duped hundreds of unemployed youths from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.

A case of cheating and impersonation has been registered against her in Ulsoor police station and further investigations are on.
