An 18-year-old woman security guard was allegedly abducted and raped by a cab driver, who is a former colleague, in Mahadevapura on Tuesday.
The victim was returning home from work when the accused, identified as Thammaiah, waylaid her and forced her into a car. Along with a friend, Thammaiah allegedly took her to an isolated spot where he raped her. Later, he abandoned her.
The victim went home and informed her parents who complained to the Mahadevapura police.
According to the police, Thammaiah had proposed to the victim when they were colleagues, but was turned down. Police are searching for the accused.
