The JSW Group, which owns Bengaluru FC, was originally tasked with reconstructing the stadium but has been locked in a dispute with the KSFA for some time now. “We have now decided to call for an open tender. It will happen in the next four-five days,” KSFA president A.R. Khaleel said on Tuesday. It will be a race against time, but Mr. Khaleel is confident the KSFA can pull it off.
“There are many who can construct it within the required time frame,” he said. “Some builders are interested. The only hitch is getting clearances from the government’s side. We’re asking for one-window clearances. I’m very confident; nothing is lost.”
