Upalokayukta S.B. Majage retires

July 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - Bengaluru:

Upalokayukta S.B. Majage retired on Friday even as the institution continues to be in the eye of a storm over allegations of corruption.

Mr. Majage had taken over as Upalokayukta on July 19, 2010. He had by then retired as a Karnataka High Court judge. He had a non-controversial tenure of five years in the Lokayukta.

He was in-charge of the institution for some time before the appointment of Y. Bhaskar Rao as Lokayukta. During his last few days in office, Mr. Majage had expressed his displeasure about another Upalokayukta Subhash B. Adi issuing directions in technically what was his jurisdiction.
