Two motorbike riders knocked down on NICE Road

March 22, 2012 10:49 am | Updated 10:49 am IST - Bangalore:

Two men on a motorcycle were killed on the spot after a speeding car knocked them down on the NICE Peripheral Road on Tuesday night.

The dead men are T. Hanumanthappa (50) and Yesudasa (57), who was riding pillion, both machine repairmen. The accident occurred near the Nagegoudrapalya Bridge on the Peripheral Ring Road stretch between Hosur Road and Mysore Road and sped away, the Talaghattapura police said.

“At the high speeds on the NICE Road, even a minor collision between the two vehicles can be fatal,” said a police official.

The car is yet to be identified; and with no cameras or eyewitnesses on the stretch, the police said tracing the vehicle would prove to be difficult.

Hanumanthappa, a resident of Hosakerehalli, and Yesudasa, a resident of Kangondanahalli, were on their way home from going home after attending to a machine that had broken down in the Jigani Industrial Estate near Anekal.
