The accused, Appaki demanded Rs. 5 lakh and Tahsildar Ramesh demanded Rs. 2 lakh bribe to get the work done.

Unable to pay, Mr. Venkatesh approached the Lokayukta following which the trap was laid, a senior police officer said.
