Tahsildar caught taking bribe

A tahsildar and two officials from Hoskote taluk were arrested on Tuesday by Lokayukta officials on the charge of demanding and taking a bribe.

The tahsildar has been identified as H. Kotresh while the other two arrested are Revenue Inspector Srinivasa Shetty and Second Division Assistant K. Nagaraju. They allegedly demanded Rs. 2.24 lakh from the complainant, H. Madhu, a resident of Bagalur, who had approached the tahsildar’s officer for conversion of 6.3 acres.

On Tuesday, Lokayukta officials caught Muniyappa, who had come to collect the bribe. Upon questioning, he claimed to have come to collect the bribe on the instructions of Kotresh.
