Six held for duping and selling site for Rs. 1.6 cr.

Six persons, including a couple from Pavagada in Tumkur, were arrested here for allegedly duping a person of Rs. 1.6 crore by selling a site belonging to someone else with forged documents. The gang had also created two fake owners to pull off the scam. The police seized Rs. 20 lakh in cash, Rs. 70 lakh in gold and silver and some documents from them.

They accused are Madhusudhan V. Anandaraj (30), Lokesh Purushotham (30), Rajesh Adinarayana Shetty alias Dhananjay (40), Narasimhaiah Obaiah alias Raghu (45) and his wife Neelamma alias Bharathi (40), and Narasimha Murthy Mallappa (34). The gang created forged documents pertaining to the ownership of a site belonging to C.K. Raghu and K.C. Bharathi in Valageri village in Kengeri and sold it to Shankara Narayana Shetty of Vijayanagar for Rs. 1.6 crore. Narasimhaiah and his wife Neelamma turned up at the sub-registrar's office at the time of the registration pretending to be the original owners.

End their lives

K. Vinay Kumar (22), a private company employee, hanged himself in his home at Manjunathanagar.

Basaveshwaranagar police said he took the extreme step when his brother was away. They suspect he was depressed as his father had been hospitalised.

Bheema (21), working with a cable network, hanged himself at his workplace in H.S.R. Layout on Monday.

Found dead

Harshita (19) was found dead in the bathroom at her home in Banashankari Monday morning. The police, quoting her parents, said she was not feeling well since Sunday. She went to have a bath and when she did not emerge, the bathroom door was broken open and Harshita was found dead inside.
