Six held for beating truck driver to death

One of them is a woman

The Hebbagodi police have arrested a group of six persons, including a woman, for beating a 24-year-old truck driver to death after his vehicle knocked down a scooter resulting in the death of a six-year-old boy at Anant Nagar in Hebbagodi on Sunday.

The accused have been identified as Rakesh, 29, a cab driver, Ishwari, 30, Anand Kumar, 19, a student, Prakash B.K., 19, Pramod Kumar, 19, and Ravi N.L., 40.

According to the police, the deceased Radhesham , a native of UP, was driving a concrete mix truck that knocked down a scooter. As a result, six-year-old Arhaan Khan, who was riding pillion, came under the wheels of the truck. The rider Sadaf Bukhari sustained severe injuries.

Angry passers-by allegedly dragged Radhesham out and thrashed him before the police arrived at the spot.

The police took Radhesham to Narayana Hrudayalaya where he succumbed to his injuries.

Based on CCTV footage, the police identified the attackers and arrested them on Tuesday .
