SI lauded for prioritising ambulance

June 18, 2017 10:44 pm | Updated 10:44 pm IST

The Bengaluru Traffic Police has honoured Sub-inspector M.L. Nijalingappa, attached to Ulsoor police station, for allowing an ambulance to pass a few seconds before the President’s convoy took the same route.

This has to be seen in the context of the traffic police facing criticism recently for stopping an ambulance to clear the route for the Chief Minister’s convoy. The incident had prompted the city police commissioner to announce that ambulances must be given priority.
