SEC dancing to the tune of government: Deve Gowda

July 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - Bengaluru:

Accusing the State Election Commission (SEC) of succumbing to the pressure of the State government, the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda said: “SEC is simply dancing to the tune of the government”. Addressing presspersons here on Friday, he said “finally” the SEC had paid tribute to the democracy by announcing the BBMP election calendar.

“The elections shall not be postponed for whatever reasons again,” he added.

He alleged the State government did not attend a single meeting called by the SEC to furnish the list of BBMP delimitation and reservation for nearly 21 months.
