RTE issue: parents stage protest outside school in Rajarajeshwari Nagar

May 10, 2017 01:09 pm | Updated 01:09 pm IST - Bengaluru

Scores of parents whose wards were allotted seats under the RTE quota in a private school in Rajarajeshwari Nagar (National Hill View Public School) staged a protest outside the school premises today as the school refused to admit the students.

Sources said that the school, which has two branches, had allocated seats in LKG but was refusing to allot seats in class one. This despite the High Court stating that certain schools should be given double entry point. Officials of the Education Department went to the school and gave letters and government orders and directed the management to fill the seats.

Repeated calls made to Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who is the chairman of the school, were not answered.
