A 25-year-old BBM graduate and his friend were allegedly attacked by four men following a row over samosas at Anepalya in Neelasandra on Friday evening.

While Mohammed Sultan Ali, who is preparing for the civil service exams, ended up with cuts on three fingers of his left hand, his friend Abbas, who owns a call centre in Indiranagar, sustained burns on his body, as the accused allegedly assaulted them with knives and a stainer.

Ali said he was returning home on Friday evening and stopped at Anepalya to buy samosas for his family. He threatened to go to another shop if the owner did not hurry up, as he was getting late. The owner, Firoz, started arguing with Ali and said he cannot go till he bought samosas from him.

Objecting to his rudeness, Ali began to walk away. At that time, Waseem, Khasim and Imran, who were sitting in the shop, allegedly attacked Ali and Abbas with knives and a stainer.

The duo tried to get into a car and escape, but the accused allegedly smashed the windshield.

The duo were rushed to a nearby hospital. Later, they filed a complaint in Ashok Nagar police station.

The accused filed a counter-complaint against the duo, accusing them of attacking them.

The police have taken up a case of assault, wrongful restraint, and provoking breach of peace against the accused.
