Police propose display boards for TTs, cabs

In the light of the gang rape, the City Traffic Police plan to make display boards mandatory for cab services, including tempo travellers, plying in the city. M.A. Saleem, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) said that this would not only ensure accountability among drivers but also instil a sense of fear among them since they would be under the scanner.

He said that the traffic police, in association with the agencies concerned, is planning to impart training to women who can be employed in the IT and BPO sectors and also in schools and colleges to ferry children and employees.
