Police are planning to install CCTV cameras in Hosa Guddadahalli where violence broke out on Wednesday after alleged sexual assault of a seven-year-old girl by a teacher on the school premises came to light, according to City Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi.

Mr. Reddi said that they would have to write to the government for setting up the outpost which would require a head constable along with a home guard equipped with walkie-talkies. “The area is a sensitive one and so we are planning to install CCTV cameras that will be monitored by the jurisdictional police station,” he added. His announcement came after a meeting with MLC Ashwathanarayan and local councillor Chandrashekar.

Meanwhile, the restrictions imposed in the locality under section 144 CrPC were lifted on Friday midnight. Till date, 21 people have been sent in judicial custody in connection with rioting. Police are examining video footage captured during the riots.
