Police launch special drive to check reckless driving

In a special drive on Shab-e-Barat, Bengaluru police booked 129 motorists for over-speeding and negligence driving and wheeling.

The police have also arrested 22 youths found to be driving recklessly and without documents endangering the lives of other motorists.

During the celebrations of Shab-e-Barat at mid-night, Muslims all over the world celebrate with pomp and enthusiasm. People pray the whole night and hold religious sermons. They also visit graveyard and pray for the departed family members.

Bengaluru police made elaborate arrangements to ensure minimum road accidents on the occasion as people, especially youth indulged in racing, wheeling and dangerous stunts. Police put-up barricades on major roads especially at the entrance and exit of the flyovers which motorcyclists use for stunts.
