Police resort to mild lathicharge against surging AIADMK supporters.

It was high drama on Saturday morning at Chennakeshava Nagar, near Hosur Main Road, when AIADMK party workers breached security barricades and rushed towards Jayalalithaa’s convoy as it made its way to the CBI special court in Parappana Agrahara. Police had to resort to a mild lathicharge.

Hundreds of supporters violated prohibitory orders and raised slogans in support of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. They flashed victory signs. Earlier in the day, the AIADMK supremo landed at the HAL airport around 8.35 a.m. with her friend V.K.Sasikala and two of her relatives V.N.Sudhakaran, who is Jayalalithaa’s former foster son and J.Ilavarasi.

The police had made special arrangements along the route from Koramamgala Ring Road, Madiwala and Hosur Road with zero traffic zone to allow the vehicles to pass through.

Though there were no untoward incidents reported, the supporters surged towards the convoy at the junction near Hosur Main Road.
