Henceforth every year, more than 11 lakh infants in the State will be administered three doses of Pentavalent vaccine at 6, 10 and 14 weeks, said Geetha Nyamgoudar, Project Director, Reproductive and Child Health. She was speaking at the launch of the vaccine here Friday.
Disease prevention
According to UNICEF officials, the vaccine will be introduced in phases and integrated into the Universal Immunisation Programme to help prevent diseases such as diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B and Influenza-B in children.
