Parameshwara defends government

May 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:56 am IST - BENGALURU:

Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Janata Dal (Secular) have been dubbing the two years of the Congress government as “non-performing” and “inefficient”, the State unit of the party is trying its best to defend the government and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

After flagging off Rajiv Jyothi Yatra here on Friday, KPCC president G. Parameshwara said the government had implemented most of the promises made to the people in the party’s election manifesto and the Opposition parties were criticising the government for the sake of criticism.

He handed over the Rajiv Jyothi to the party’s general secretary S.S. Prakasam. The party has been holding the yatra for the past 24 years to spread the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s message on terrorism and communal harmony, Mr. Prakasam said.
