The Central Business District (CBD) is expected to experience traffic snarls for the next two months, as the major arterial road linking K.R. Circle to Hudson Circle, will be closed for vehicles from Sunday. Besides the ongoing TenderSURE work, the BBMP has also taken up white topping of the stretch, necessitating closure of the road.

BBMP Commissioner N. Manjunath Prasad said, “We have decided to allow only buses and government vehicles on a single lane,” he said.

All other vehicles will be diverted through Cubbon Park to reach Hudson Circle. On account of this diversion, vehicles will be allowed inside Cubbon Park on Sundays for two months, sources said.

Also, gates to Cubbon Park will be kept open 24 hours while work is being carried out on Nrupatunga Road, traffic police said.
