The State government is working out modalities to implement the proposed affordable housing scheme for the economically weaker sections (EWS) and will shortly issue a notification in this regard. Minister for Urban Development Vinay Kumar Sorake told presspersons on Wednesday that the scheme would be taken up on the PPP model with builders and developers. Under the scheme, the builder/developer will develop the project and provide 25 per cent of the houses to people in the EWS group at affordable rates.
