New MEMU train between Bengaluru and Bangarpet

The Bengaluru division of South Western Railway (SWR) on Monday introduced a MEMU special train to Bangarpet.

In a release, the SWR stated that train number 06545 KSR Bengaluru – Bangarpet MEMU Special will depart at 5.00 a.m. and reach Bangarpet at 6.03 a.m.

In the return direction, train number 06546 Bangarpet – KSR Bengaluru MEMU Special will depart at 10.15 p.m. and reach KSR Bengaluru at 11.45 p.m.

The train will have stoppages at Bengaluru Cantonment, Baiyappanahallli, K.R. Puram, Hoodi Halt, Whitefield, Devangonthi, Malur and Tyakal in both directions.

“Bangarpet is one of the important stations on the Bengaluru-Chennai route. All Chennai-bound trains and trains towards Bengaluru from Chennai have to pass through Bangarpet. It is the last railway junction in Karnataka before entering Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. This town is famous for rice trading. Being an important junction in the Bengaluru division, this station is identified as one of the model stations of South Western Railway,” states the release.
