Model and Bigg Boss 11 contestant Bandgi Kalra has been booked for allegedly cheating an engineering student from Bengaluru by posting a fake advertisement of an iPhone X on her Instagram account.
According to Yuvaraj Singh Yadav, who filed a complaint in Marathahalli police station, there was an advertisement on Kalra’s Instagram account offering an iPhone X for ₹61,000. The advertisement had a mobile number. However, what he got was not an iPhone, but a cheap Chinese model, he alleged.
“We have sent an email to Kalra and have summoned her for questioning. Though we are not sure of her exact involvement in the incident, she has promoted the product on her Instagram account. Even though she deleted the post, the victim has submitted a screen shot of the same,” said Inspector Sadique Pasha. “Kalra has over five lakh followers on her Instagram account. We suspect many more people may have got cheated.”
Mr. Pasha further said that Kalra has been given three days time to appear before the police failing which a police team would be sent to arrest her, he said.
