A 22-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his friend's house in Vijaya Nagar on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as J.P. Basavaraju, a native of Savanur in Haveri district.
According to the police, Basavaraju was staying at his college friend's house in Sampige Layout, who had gone out of station with her family.
The incident came to light when the friend returned home on Monday evening and found the body. The Vijaya Nagar police have taken up a case and are investigating.
