A 33-year-old cab driver has filed a complaint against his younger brother for beating him up after he ate his share of cream stored in the refrigerator.

Based on the complaint by Mohammed Azeem, the Mahadevapura police have registered an FIR against Syed Shabbir, 30, charging him under assault, wrongful restraint, and intentional insult .

The incident occurred on Thursday night when Azeem returned home from work and found cream in the fridge kept by his mother. He was hungry and ate it.

Azeem told his mother that he had eaten the cream and she scolded him for eating it without telling her.

When Shabbir came home and found the cream missing, he asked his mother and she told him.

Shabbir attacked Azeem and beat him black and blue.

Azeem raised the alarm prompting neighbours to come help him.

Azeem, who sustained multiple injuries, went to the police and filed a complaint.

The police took up the complaint and advised him to get treatment before summoning Shabbir for inquiry.

“We are trying to resolve the issue amicably,” a senior police officer added.
