Laxmi Ravindra Hebbalkar will take charge as president of the Karnataka Mahila Congress on Friday. The event will take place at Ambedkar Bhavan here at 3 p.m.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G. Parameshwara, Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha M. Mallikarjun Kharge and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will participate in the event.
Ms. Hebbalkar (40) of Belagavi holds a postgraduate degree from the University of Mysore. She replaces Manjula Naidu as the party’s women’s wing chief.
Ms. Hebbalkar had unsuccessfully contested the last Lok Sabha election from Belagavi.
