After much uncertainty over results, the class 12 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results announced on Sunday brought cheer to most students.
The pass percentage of Chennai region, that includes Karnataka, stands at 92.64. This is a marginal increase compared to last year’s pass percentage of 92.63. The region, second among all, has 10.62% more passes than the overall pass percentage of 82.02. Out of the total 56,728 students who appeared for the exam in Chennai region, 52,555 students have cleared the exam. Girls with 94.17% passes have fared better than boys with 91.47% passes. Several Bengaluru students bagged centum in biology, mass media, economics, chemistry, and mathematics.
The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya schools in the region fared the best with 98.27%, followed by Kendriya Vidyalaya schools that bagged 97.12% passes. Independent schools bagged 92.49% passes, while government schools bagged 75.32%.
Out of the total 10.2 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam, 8.37 lakh students passed. Girls with 87.5% pass have done better than boys. The highest passes have been bagged by the Trivandrum region with 95.62 per cent passes.
As many as 10,091 candidates have scored more than 95%, while 63,247 candidates have scored above 90%.
