‘Irregularities’ at ISEC to dominate AGM today

January 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - BENGALURU:

The alleged financial and administrative irregularities at the Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), a premiere academic institution in the city, is likely to dominate the Board of Governor’s meeting and annual general body meeting of the institute to be held here on Thursday. Governor Vajubhai R. Vala, who is president of the ISEC Society, is to preside over the 42nd AGM to be held at the institute at 5 p.m.

Following a complaint filed with the Lokayukta against ISEC Director Binay Kumar Pattnaik, for his alleged role in financial and administrative irregularities, the anti-corruption body issued a notice to the director asking him to reply to charges before January 27. “The complaint filed by faculty member T.N. Bhat is listed in the agenda of the Board of Governors,” said a source in the ISEC.

However, Mr. Pattnaik has dismissed the allegations as “unfounded”.
