One of the country’s premier education institutions — the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore — is throwing its gates open to the public with its ‘Open Day’ to showcase its activities to the student community and the general public on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

According to the IISc., students, science and technology enthusiasts, and the public, will have an opportunity to visit the institute and go around the campus to explore the science and technology initiatives, and activities of the IISc.

The Open Day will feature lectures, experimental demos, poster presentations, quiz contests, scientific competitions, and exhibitions in various departments and centres. A ‘Kids Zone’ will offer a special attraction for young students, with a number of science and technology demos on display, the IISc. added.

Visitors have been encouraged to register online for the event, reach the IISc. campus by public transport, and bring their own water bottles.

Entry to the Open Day is free. For more details, contact 080 22932770 / 22932228.
