High Court adjourns hearing on Ashwin’s petition

July 17, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - Bengaluru:

The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday adjourned to July 21 the further hearing of a petition filed by Lokayukta Y. Bhaskar Rao’s son Ashwin Y., questioning the investigation ordered by the Upalokayukta into the alleged corruption in Lokayukta.

A Division Bench, comprising Justice N.K. Patil and Justice Rathnakala, adjourned hearing after it was told that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the State has now taken over the probe. The High Court, in its July 1 interim order, had told the Lokayukta and Upalokayukta not to direct an in-house probe into the allegations and to wait for the SIT report.

The Lokayukta police had registered a FIR against Mr. Ashwin when the High Court was hearing his plea against Upalokayukta Subhash B. Adi’s order.
