The State government on Monday requested a division bench of the Karnataka High Court to differ hearing to Wednesday on its appeal against a single judge bench’s direction for holding elections to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) by May 30.

It was on State’s request for urgent hearing the division bench, headed by Chief Justice D.H. Waghela and Justice Ram Mohan Reddy, had on Friday agreed to hear the appeal as the first case today.

However, when the appeal came up for hearing today, Additional Advocate General sought adjournment to Wednesday while pointing out that some papers filed by it were not in proper form and it wants to file a fresh set complying the requirement of court procedures.
