The High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday pulled up the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike for utilising around 290 sq. m of private land, belonging to an industrial house, for Okalipuram corridor project without acquiring the land.

Justice G. Narendar directed the BBMP Commissioner to initiate action against the officers concerned for utilising the land, belonging to Khoday Eshwar Sa and Sons, situated at Sangolli Rayanna Circle near the city railway station.

While vacating the status quo order granted earlier, the court allowed the BBMP to go ahead with the work of the project, which is at an advanced stage, but directed the civic body to give appropriate compensation to the petitioner for utilising the land without acquiring it legally.
