HC notice on plea against dirt race at Jakkur aerodrome

October 25, 2017 08:24 pm | Updated 08:24 pm IST

The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday ordered issue of notice to the State on a petition questioning the grant of permission for conduct of dirt racing in Jakkur aerodrome for five days from October 27.

Justice A.S. Bopanna passed the order on a petition by Agni Aero Sports Aventure Academy Pvt Ltd, which is operating in the Jakkur aerodrome campus.

The State authorities have granted permission to Geneva Services for conducting dirt race in the aerodrome premises.

The petitioner has contended that the aerodrome is meant for flying activities and not for dirt racing, which would damage the runway and other infrastructure of the aerodrome.
