Though a remake of Venkatadri Express , a recent Telugu blockbuster, director P. Kumar has done his best to turn a simple plot into an entertaining film.
The 125-minute film has the right blend of action, emotion and humour.
The story is about a typical conflict point between a disciplinarian father and his defiant son. But, it is the script and rounded characters, which carries weight in the movie. The story happens in one night. The movie can well be described as a ‘lovers’ night out’.
Sumanth’s family (Sumanth Shylendra) is to board the Tirupathi Express in Mysore to go to Tirupathi for Sumanth’s brother’s (Naveen Krishna) wedding. Sumanth misses the train and in the melee, he meets Prarthana (Kriti Kharbanda), a techie, who is supposed to be taking the same train to meet her sister.
Though the story is predictable, Kumar manages to hold the audiences’ attention.
Sumanth and Prarthana encounter a series of funny and interesting events. The narration of the journey is interesting and will not allow the viewers to take a single break.
Sumanth has improved his acting skills when compared to his previous films. While he excels in action and dance sequences, he fights hard to express emotions.
Though there is nothing much for Kriti to perform, she succeeds in attracting the audience. Ashok and Sumithra Babu as parents of Sumanth will not disappoint you. Chikkanna as the auto driver is entertaining as well.
Frames of Jagadish Wali are eye-catching and the background score by Arjun Janya is a test for eardrums.
