The city police detained a German national at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday evening, for running to the ground when the IPL cricket match was halted due to rain.

The person has been identified as Pascal Dubois (26). He works as a consultant engineer at a private firm in Rajajinagar. Pascal had come to the stadium for the match, after which ran towards the pitch. He then had a bitter tiff with the police officials, who tried to take him away from the ground.

The Cubbon Park police have booked a case against him for trespassing.
