Driver drowns while washing car

A 30-year-old driver met a watery grave in Kadiganahalli lake near Chikkajala late on Thursday evening.

The police said that the deceased, Farooq Shah, was from Kunigal. He worked as a cab driver. On Thursday evening, he reached Bengaluru along with three friends for personal reasons and went towards Kadiganahalli lake to wash his car. As he ventured into the water, he began to drown. His friends, who were nearby, shouted for help. Passers-by tried to rescue Shah, but in vain. They informed the police who recovered the body with the help of the Fire and Emergency Services personnel.

A case has been registered in Chikkajala police station.
