Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui was probably the best choice for an entrepreneur fest at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore’s EXIMIUS 2015 held on Saturday.
Drawing anecdotes from their lives and the film, the cast and crew of Manjhi- The Mountain Main , which is set to release this month, spoke of the real-life challenges faced by the subject of the film. They tried to emphasise how entrepreneurship was not just about web-based start-ups but about setting goals and achieving them despite the odds. Siddiqui spoke of how he struggled for 15 years to establish himself. He drew comparison to his character Dashrath Manjhi, who carved a road through a mountain in 22 years.
Sukhibhava, an initiative that aims to create awareness among women about menstrual hygiene, was judged the winners of the ‘Unsung Heroes’ competition at IIMB. The award aims to recognise and reward local entrepreneurs in Indian markets by capturing their practices on video.
