Cops raid shops selling fake mobile phones, accessories

The Halusuru Gate Police Station, along with Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR), today raided three shops on S.P. Road that were selling fake products branded as products of ‘Micromax’.

During the operation, police seized over 115 mobile handsets and over 3,000 accessories that includes flip covers, batteries, back covers, ear phones, charges, among others. The value of the fake products are to the tune of Rs 15 lacs.

Three people have been arrested and FIR has been lodged against the accused at the Police Station.

In an attempt to curb violation of its intellectual properties, the mobile phone manufacturer has been carrying out raid operations with the help of law authorities to identify such suppliers and sellers who are involved in selling fakes products.
