Construction worker falls from fourth floor, dies

His fellow worker sustains injuries

A 25-year-old construction worker was killed and another injured when the duo fell from the fourth floor of an under-construction school building at Sathanur villa ge in Bagaluru on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Koimul Haq, a native of Assam. His friend Abdul Zakir, 27, who sustained injuries, has been admitted to a private hospital.

According to the police, the duo was doing fabrication work sit ting on the centering folds put up on the fourth floor of the Delhi Public School building. One of the centering folds broke and the duo crashed to the ground. The other workers rushed them to a nearby hospital, where Koimul was declared as brought dead. Zakir su stained multiple injuries.

Investigations revealed that the school management had given a contract to Muniswamy for fabrication work and he had employed a group of workers from Assam. The police have detained Muniswamy. He has been booked for death due to negligence for not providing safety measures to the workers.
