C.N.R. Rao to donate lab to Poornaprajna Institute

Bharat Ratna C.N.R. Rao and his wife will donate a lab to Poornaprajna Institute of Scientific Research (PPISR) to focus on material science research, one of the areas of his expertise. Prof. Rao made the announcement during Founder's Day celebrations and the graduation day of the institute recently. He also announced a scholarship for one Ph.D. student.

A release also quoted him commenting on the government's lack of support to science in his speech. “The government believes science is a waste of money,” he said.
