CAR constable attempts suicide

A 35-year-old City Armed Reserve (CAR) constable attached to the Bengaluru police allegedly tried to commit suicide along with his family in Sampigehalli police limits on Tuesday morning.

According to police, Subash (35) married Veena nearly 10 years ago and they have two children - a 3-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy. They live in the CAR quarters in Sampigehalli police limits.

On Tuesday morning, Sampigehalli police suspect that he mixed rat poison in the food and gave it to his family first and then consumed it himself. All the four have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Subash joined the police force in 2006.

The Sampigehalli police have registered a case and are investigating.
